Museum Anthropology students worked with Hopi plants materials that were collected in the 1930s by Volney Jones (Curator at the University of Michigan, Museum of Anthropology) and Alfred Whiting (Curator at the Museum of Northern Arizona) with help from Hopi community members, Edmund Nequatewa, Don Talayesva, and Jimmy Kewanwytewa.

The first step in creating the online catalog of this collection was to compile information from the Museum collections records and to prepare the seeds for photography.
