For the Museum Anthropology course project, students worked together in teams to compile information for the Hopi Plants @ UMMAA online catalog.

In 2015, students examined ethnobotanical specimens collected between 1931 and 1935. Teams were organized by topics based on the specimens they examined.  The 2015 students teams were: Fibers/Dyes, Foods, Wild Plants, and Crops, which including items grown in Michigan from Hopi seeds.

In 2014, student teams examined the seeds collected during the 1935 Hopi Crop Survey. The teams were organized by the Hopi Mesa from which the plants were collected. Because the items collected from Second and Third Mesas was substantial (over 35 museum catalog numbers), two teams worked on seeds from these Mesas: one focused on corn and the other on beans.
